Isis Yue is from Hong Kong. Her work encompasses paper work, design, and sculpture, and discovering the properties of any object is essential for creating a work.
She is fascinated by exploring environmental problems. In her previous project, she did some sculptures about the environment and animals, for example, deforestation, mentioning about forests being cleared, and talking about the slashing-and-burning methods to destroy the forest, then how all the organism lose their original habitats, ecological damage. She hopes people realize the consequences of excessive development throw those work.
Sometimes, social issues also serve as inspiration for creating design works. She creates work based on the Hong Kong social issue, exploring the changes in people's lives and the differences in streets and the news of Hong Kong, questioning as a local Hong Kong citizen, what's different. Besides, she is likely to discover the shopping habits of people in their daily lives. This year, she focused on consumerism and overproduction, leading to resource waste. Exploring pathological consumption habits and aesthetics. Rethinking whether liking a certain product is truly a matter of personal taste and aesthetics.
